Art Department Chair, Pace University, NYC

Pace University in Manhattan invites applications for an anticipated position for Chair of the Art Department, at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The department is seeking a dynamic leader for a flourishing undergraduate department combining art, art history, and design. The successful candidate will have the appropriate terminal degree for their field (MFA or PhD), a strong professional record of exhibitions, commissions, or publications, and both college level teaching and administrative experience. Preference is for a practitioner with expertise in a New Media field, Film Production, or Design, but qualified candidates in all fields are encouraged to apply. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Memphis College of Art Seeks Full-Time Assistant Prof. of Illustration

The Memphis College of Art is seeking a mature, experienced generalist with an MFA who can take the reins of their Illustration and Comics programs and lead them through a transition period from two concentrations into a single major.

Position: Full-time Assistant (possibly Associate) professor in Illustration beginning August 1, 2013.

Qualifications: MFA in Illustration required along with proven excellence in both teaching and creative practice. Candidates must demonstrate broad knowledge of the field of Illustration, strong drawing skills, familiarity with a variety of media and techniques, including digital, and deep knowledge of professional practices.

Memphis College of Art seeks an experienced artist/teacher to lead the Illustration program through a period of expansion combining two concentrations in Illustration and Comics to create a BFA major in Illustration/Comics. Mature leadership and an interest in curriculum development and course/program assessment are crucial assets. Also required: College service; student advising; and maintaining creative output consistent with the mission of a professional art school.

Art Faculty Position at Sterling College

Sterling College, a small Christian college in Kansas, recently created a full-time faculty position to start August 1, 2012. The position will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses in art, which could include painting, drawing, photography, ceramics and sculpture, as well as a secondary role in graphic design and illustration. All art faculty member participate in teaching art history and foundation courses.
